KARACHI –Pakistan people’s Party (PPP) decided to nominate Sherry Rheman as a senator from Sindh, after taking resignation from Latif Ansari on Friday.
According to sources, Asif Ali Zardari,former president and Co-chairperson of PPP, asked senator Latif Ansari to resign from his post as a senator to appoint Sherry Rheman, as a senator from Sindh.
Sources revealed that Senator Latif Ansari immediately sent his resignation letter to Chairman Senate, Raza Rabani, on Asif Ali Zardari Directions.
Sherry Rehaman had been a Federal Minister for information and broadcasting from March 2008 to March 2009 during Peoples party government from 2008 to 2013.
She had also served Pakistan as ambassadors to United States in 2011 succeeding, Hussain Haqani.
