MULTAN – The by-polls in underway in the vacated seat of Punjab Assembly from Multan, PP-196, with fourteen candidates contesting the election on Thursday.
The seat fell vacant after the disqualification of Provincial Minister Chaudhry Abdul Waheed Arian.
Total fourteen candidates are taking part in by-election with Rana Mahmud-ul-Hassan of PML-N and Rana Abdul Jabar are the major candidates in the election.
The total number of voters registered in PP-196 are 176,315. Total number of polling stations are 143 with 67 are declared as the sensitive ones.
There is the public holiday in Multan today for the peaceful and effective conduction of by-election.
