WASHINGTON – American congress has approved milestone defense budget of $612 Billion despite of the indicated veto threat from Barack Obama on Monday.
According to sources, 269 members voted in favor of the bill, whereas 151 members voted against the proposed bill to allocate such huge amount for defense spendings.
Sources informed that budget would be allocated for Army expenses and several other national security programs in the coming year.
According to sources, Republican enthusiastically participated in the legislation process, whereas 41 members of the democrats also supported the bill despite strong opposition of their party’s President Barack Obama.
Hundred and forty three (143) members of the democrats opposed the bill following the path of their President.
The democrats were of the view that the budget would not fulfill the defense requirement and it would also create obstacles for President Obama to close the Guantanamo bay detention camp.
It is pertinent to mention in 2011 both the parties of the house had agreed to curtail the defense budget as well as internal expenses to meet the economic needs of the country.
