KARACHI – The gunmen opened fire on the bus killing 45 people and several injured near Saffora Chowrangi in Karachi on Wednesday.
Around six to ten gunmen opened fire on the bus taking more than 50 passengers from Al-Azhar to Federal Area B.
One of the eye witnesses told that gunmen opened fire indiscriminately and killed 41 people traveling on bus.
The dead includes twenty five men and sixteen women, said hospital sources.
Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali, said that around six terrorists went inside the bus and shot the people on their head.
The gunmen managed to escaped after the incident, but we will brought the culprits to justice, IG Sindh.
The Ismaeli Community was travelling in the bus, so issue seems to be of sectarian in nature, IG Sindh.
The whole area of Safoora Chowk gripped in high panic and fear as dead bodies hanging all around the bus.

Police and Rangers are now conducting the search operation in and around the area to capture the culprits.
Rescue personnel shifted the victims to nearby hospitals where an emergency has been imposed. Five of the wounded succumbed to their wounds while en route to the hospital, according to rescue sources.
No arrest have been made in this regard by the police and Rangers, while search operation is underway in the whole area after sealing the chowk.
The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has taken the strict notice of the incident and asked to bring about justice to the aggrieved families.
He announced Rs 5 lac for each deceased person and Rs. 2 lac for each person injured in an incident.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Speaker Of National Assembly, President of Pakistan, Chaudhry Nisar and Imran Khan and many other noted leaders condemned the incident with all their heart and said that we are with the bereaved familites in their tough time.
