NEW DELHI – Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan said on Sunday that Pakistan wanted to host the first bilateral Test tour by India in eight years in the United Arab Emirates in December.
The tour, comprising three Tests, five one-days and two Twenty20 games is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the two boards last year to play five series in the next eight years.
Shahryar Khan, after meeting Indian cricket Chief Jagmohan Dalmiya, said that Pakistan wanted to resume India-Pakistan series in UAE.
He also said that the preparations were in the full swing and that the series should be resumed at all costs owing to its importance in cricket world.
Dalmiya said that he was hopeful the series would go ahead, provided the government gave the green signal.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement that it was desirable to recommence cricket contact with Pakistan.
“After proactive discussions, since there are certain matters that need to be addressed and considered, it was decided to take appropriate steps,” the official statement of BCCI reads.
