Governor Punjab To Work Without Salary

LAHORE – The newly appointed Governor Punjab Malik Rafique Rajwana has refused to receive his official salary. Instead, the amount would be donated for welfare activities.

The governor has also refused to settle his family and relatives in Governor House Lahore. He took this decision to keep government assets eternally official.

Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Rafique Rajwana on Sunday took oath as the Punjab governor.

Presided by Lahore High Court Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, the oath-taking ceremony took place at the Governor House, and was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, among other leaders.

While speaking to the media after taking the oath, Rajwana thanked the PML-N leadership for appointing him as the constitutional head of Pakistan’s most populous province, and vowed to work for the betterment of the province at large, particularly for the welfare of the people of South Punjab.

Earlier on Thursday, he was appointed as the Punjab governor by President Mamnoon Hussain.
