ISLAMABAD – The voter lists carrying pictures have been prepared for the elections of the legislative assembly of Gilgit Baltistan.
Quality ink has also been arranged for the authentication of thumb impressions. The confirmation of votes would be made with the assistance of NADRA. The detailed security plan of over 1000 polling stations would be given by 7 district returning officers by next week.
In the light of this security plan, the Election Commission would formally write applications to the security forces for seeking their help during the election process.
According to the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan, security arrangements would be made as first priority and the subsequent arrangements would be done afterwards.
The voter lists bearing the picture of the voter would only be provided to the presiding officers. The district returning officers and the returning officers would give instructions to the presiding officers relating to the thumb impressions on the voter lists carrying picture of each voter.
Sources told that no complaint against the breach of the code of conduct had been received. The district returning officers were asked to aware the commission of any irregularities if observed.
