Enough water resources for Islamabad, says CDA

ISLAMABAD: In a meeting held on Wednesday at the CDA headquarters the Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal maintained that the water reservoirs in Simly and Khanpur Dam are sufficient.

The meeting was organised to examine the prospects of water supply during the summer season.

The chairman was told that for the undisrupted supply of water, the water reserves in the reservoirs are abundant at least till the rainy season so there is no danger of water paucity in summer.

The Chairman CDA stressed that the issue of load shedding should be resolved in collaboration with IESCO officials.

He was apprised that CDA supplies 34 million gallons from Simily while from Khanpur Dam 8 million gallons of water is supplied. Moreover other sources such as tube well are also used to meet the demand for water.
