Two police personnel shot dead in Riyadh

RIYADH: As many as two police officers were shot dead by unidentified men in Saudi Arabia capital Riyadh; local media reported early on Wednesday.

According to reports, the attack took place at 1:30am (2200 GMT) in an eastern district of Riyadh while the officers were patrolling in their vehicle.

A police patrol was carrying out its duties in eastern Riyadh, it came under fire from an unidentified vehicle, leaving two policemen dead,” read a statement issued by the Riyadh police.

Both were dead on the spot and their bodies have been shifted to local hospital.
