Govt decides to maintain wheat price at Rs 1,300/40Kg

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday has decided to increase the price of imported wheat by at least Rs 100 maintaining the price at Rs 1,300 per 40 Kilogram (kg) bag.

Chief Minister Punjab ensured the farmers to protect their interest. Shahbaz Sharif chaired a meeting in the Chief Minister House.

According to the sources, the government would buy at least 40 lac metric ton wheat this year. He ordered the authorities concerned to first pay the farmers and then take wheat. The Chief Minister expressed a resolve not to let the wheat prices in international market affect the farmers.
