Smith, Finch fail to break Saeed Anwar, Wajahatullah Wasti’s record

SYDNEY: Steven Smith and Aaron Finch were felt a little short to break Saeed Anwar and Wajahatullah Wasti’s great partnership record in the semifinal of the World Cup.

Smith and Finch played a brilliant knock for the second wicket which gave Australia to post a big total which help the team to qualify for the semifinals.

They scored 182 runs for the second wicket in which Smith scored 105 while Finch scored 81 runs.

In 1999 World Cup semifinals Saeed Anwar and Wajahatullah Wasti posted 194 runs which is the record partnership in World Cup knockouts.
