Shehryar Khan hints at Saeed Ajmal’s return to World Cup

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shehryar Khan has hinted at Saeed Ajmal’s recall for ongoing World Cup if Pakistan beat Australia and qualify for the semifinal of the tournament.

In an interview, Shahryar Khan has said that the option of sending  off-spinner Saeed Ajmal to Australia for the cricket World Cup was available if Pakistan reached the semi-finals of the tournament.

PCB Chief said that Ajmal could replace the injured pacer Mohammad Irfan, who was ruled out of the World Cup on Tuesday with a stress fracture of the pelvic.

He said PCB is not sending any replacement of Irfan for the quarter finals as time is short and the match is scheduled for Friday. Yes, we will send a replacement if Pakistan beat Australia and reach semi-final and it could be Saeed Ajmal, he added.

Earlier, there were reports that Junaid Khan will replace injured Mohammad Irfan.
