Election Tribunal disqualifes PML-N MNA from Sargodha

RAWALPINDI: An Election Tribunal on Thursday declared election of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA from NA-66 Sargodha Hamid Hameed as null and void.

The tribunal de-seated the sitting PML-N MNA after rigging in last general election in the constituency was proved. The runner up candidate had challenged the victory of PML-N man accusing him of resorting to large scale rigging.

The election tribunal after hearing the lawyers of both the sides and examining the evidences produced by the complaint concluded that the PML-N man had returned through unfair means and declare his victory as null and void.

The tribunal ordered fresh election in the constituency.
