Security plan formulated for Pakistan Day parade

ISLAMABAD: After an interval of 7 years, the nation is set to celebrate Pakistan Day under tight security measures.

 
The security arrangements include a detail of 1200 policemen in Islamabad and 20 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to monitor the ongoing parade.
The task of setting up the cameras has been handed over to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

The traffic police are formulating a special plan to deal with the traffic in the areas of Faizabad, Highway and Zero-point.

In light of added security measures, notifications have been issued to close 41 madrassas and shrines falling within two kilometer radius of the parade zone till March 24.
The marriage halls in the vicinity of parade area have also been notified to reschedule all events taking place on the 23rd March.
The local administration has also advised the owners of the guest houses to display responsibility as the event approaches and to report any suspicious person to police immediately.
In addition, the guest houses have also been given instruction to take the identity cards of any person that stays at their facility during that period.
The Federal authorities have also sought details of the medical staff serving in the hospitals of the federal capital.
