HAMILTON: Shikar Dhawan has led India to a convincing victory over Ireland in pool B match at Seddon Park.
Dhawan went on to score a terrific century against Ireland to lead the side towards a convincing victory.
He made 100 runs while Rohit Sharma scored brilliant 64 before chopping bowl on to the stumps. India easily chased down 260 runs on loss of two wicket with 79 bowls remaining in their innings.
Stuart Thompson picked up two wickets for the Irish side.
Irish team got the traffic start but somehow lot the way in the death overs of the innings as they lost more than six wickets in just span of 50 runs.
However, Niall O’Brien players a brilliant hand of 75 runs while skipper William Porterfield scored 67 to set a respectable total against India.
