Apple unveils Apple Watch, allows user to make, receive call, massages

SAN FRANCISCO: American technological giant Apple on Monday unveiled a smartwatch that allows users to make and receive calls and messages and track health and fitness.

The company unveiled the device at its San Francisco event. The similar king of watch was launched last year under Samsung’s flag which has almost the same functions.

“It’s like having a coach on your wrist,” Apple chief executive Tim Cook said as he unveiled the keenly awaited Apple Watch.

The watch has 18 hours of battery life, which means it can last all day.

Tim Cook also revealed that the new update iOS 8.2 is available today for download.

The watch will be available from April 24 in many countries.

Apple Watch – 38mm starts to $549. Ranges up to $1,049 depending on band. 42mm is only $50 more. Sport: $349 for 38mm, $399 for 42mm.

As Cook said, the devices must be paired with an iPhone, and are compatible with the iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, and 6 Plus. Sadly, earlier iPhones are excluded, as are other phone platforms like Google’s Android operating system and Microsoft’s Windows
