Sangakkara achieves two milestones of his cricket career

SYDNEY: It can be declared the day for former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara who on Sunday made two milestone for his career as  he became the first batsman to score hundreds in three consecutive World Cup matches and completed his 14,000 runs in ODI’s in a Pool A match against Australia in Sydney.

Earlier, Sangakkara became only the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score 14,000 ODI runs when he got to 39 with a paddled two off spinner Glenn Maxwell.

The left-hander Sangakkara was eventually out for 104 when caught in the deep by Aaron Finch off James Faulkner.

The former captain has announced his departure from ODI’s before World Cup.
