Without PTI, two parties would continue looting country: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that two parties would continue ‘looting’ the country if there was no PTI, adding that his party will now concentrate its fight for an ‘independent’ Election Commission,.

“We will bring neutral umpire in politics”, he said. Imran Khan while terming the interim set up of Gilgit-Baltistan as unconstitutional said that the masses should have to stand up against this set up. He said if PTI have chance then it will change the system in GB.
Addressing Gilgit-Baltistan Youth Wing convention organized by PTI, Imran Khan said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan are most deprived of their rights, adding that the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan has decided to stand against the status quo.
He claimed that majority of politicians in the parliament don’t even know about Gilgit-Baltistan and that the area that is away from the center is oft forgotten.
PTI chairman said both major parties would take turns to ‘loot’ the country if there was no PTI. He said the appointment of governor in Gilgit-Baltistan shows the intention of the ruling PML-N party.
Khan said he will stop the alleged rigging in election together with the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. He said democracy cannot function without local body system, adding that both major parties did not hold local body elections in their respective tenures.
Change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will come after local body election, he said. “People will start calling for freedom in various parts of the country if a new system is not introduced”.
Imran Khan said that he will introduce a new system in Gilgit-Baltistan after winning the regional council elections.
Imran said that a bureaucratic government prevails in GB. He has said that a new system will be introduced in the region after the council elections for which a manifesto has been prepared.
He vowed that powers will be shifted down to the grassroots level. He added that the last two governments did not held Local Bodies (LB) Elections in the region.
Khan said that East Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh, separated from the country because they were denied rights. “By looking at Balochistan it seems that we are living in archaic times”, he said.
“The real Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will be seen after the LB polls in the province. No funds will be given to any National Assembly member”, he added.
The PTI Chairman said that his party fought for an independent judiciary and now it is fighting for a free Election Commission.
Meanwhile Imran Khan prayed for Pakistan’s good performance in the next matches of the World Cup. He said that people were fearful because South Africa was a strong team.
He said that Peshawar Shaukat Khanum Hospital is 20 percent bigger than the hospital in Lahore. “The deficit of Lahore hospital is Rs 3.6 billion. With a huge deficit, a person having faith in Almighty Allah can start another hospital,” he maintained.
Imran hoped that Peshawar Shaukat Khanum Hospital would start functioning at the end of this year.
He said that history remembers only philanthropists, not the rich. “The world will always remember the people like Mother Teresa,” he said.
The PTI chief said that there are several people having the Swiss accounts in the country, but they are afraid of the public.  “Only grave’s mud can end their greed,” he said.
He said that 110 million people in the country are deprived of two-time meal. Imran Khan disclosed that land has been acquired for a cancer hospital in Karachi. “The cancer treatment in Pakistan is 90 percent less than abroad,” he said.
