Pakistan, Saudi Arabia to boost cooperation in diverse fields

RIYADH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to enhance cooperation in various sectors including security, energy, trade, investment and infrastructure.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud in Riyadh on Wednesday.

The two leaders also discussed overall security situation in the region and the international issues.

 

Speaking on this occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that terrorism and extremism are common enemies of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The Prime Minister said that relationships between the two countries are not limited to political level, rather people of the two countries also enjoy cordial relations.
He said both the countries are tide in the bondage of common religion and historic values. He expressed hope that the relations between the two countries would reach to its climax during the era of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz.
He thanked the Saudi government for supporting Pakistan in every critical moment.
Meanwhile Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are tied in a relationship of love and respect.
In a statement he said Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al- Saud personally received Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the airport, which reflects warm and strong Pak-Saudi ties.
He said the government and the people of Pakistan have great love and respect for their Saudi brethren.
Pervaiz Rashid said expression of love and respect by both the countries has made the day memorable. He thanked the Saudi leadership for expressing love and sincerity with Pakistan.
