Australia fight back but calm Williamson wins game for New Zealand

AUCKLAND: Calm Williamson won the game for New Zealand, as Kiwis chased the low 151 runs total on loss of 9 wickets against Australia.

Kane Williamson stayed cool and calm on the crease won the breath taking contest against Australia played at Eden Park.

Australia just felt short of a wicket in defending the low total. Mitchell Starc bowled superbly for his figures of 6 wickets for 40 runs in 9 overs.

New Zealand off to a flyer against the Aussies as they did against England with their skipper Brandon McCullum leading the charge. He made 50 runs while Williamson scored unbeaten 45 to guide the team towards victory stand.

Earlier New Zealand bowled out Australia in 32.2 overs, as Trent Boult got the best figures of his career. He picked up 5 wickets for 27 runs.

Australia went off to a blistering start as they have posted 80 runs on the score board on loss of a wicket but after that all carnage for the batting side.

Brad Haddin showed some resistance against Kiwis bowling attack but unable to reach the respectable total.

Haddin made 43 while David Warner scored 34 runs.
