NA-122 vote verification: Final argument on Feb 27

LAHORE: Election Tribunal Lahore judge Kazim Ali Malik on Monday summoned counsels of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for the final argument in relevance to the petition requesting vote verification from NADRA on February 27.

As Judge Kazim Malik commenced the hearing, Imran Khan’s lawyer stated that local commission’s report pertaining to rigging in NA-122 was ambiguous hence the investigation must be conducted by NADRA.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s lawyer Asjad Saeed, in a written response, said bags have been opened, votes have been recounted, commission has given its report; this leaves no reason to get votes verified by NADRA.
He further accused Imran Khan of employing delaying tactics. He also objected to the application of Imran Khan. He said that the NA-122 electoral record was checked by the local commission on the application of Imran Khan and now it is useless to verify the thumb impressions from the NADRA. He was of the view Imran Khan has failed to prove the rigging allegations.
Meanwhile justice (retd) Kazim Ali Malik summoned the counsels for National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and PTI chief Imran Khan in the NA-122 rigging case on February 27.
