SC for monitoring system over legal publications

ISLAMABAD: The senior most judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan has remarked that Urdu translation of constitution of Pakistan is not satisfactory because many things in that translation are not understandable.

 
During the hearing of case regarding publishing of legal books with mistakes Justice Jawwad observed that it seems that officials want to keep the laws from easy approach of people living in country.
Three-member bench of apex court headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja while hearing cases on Tuesday in Islamabad directed the Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt and federal Law Secretary Sardar Raza Khan to chalk out the plane for monitoring and evaluation of the legal books within a week and submit report in this regard.

The secretary law said there is no law for action against authors and publishers of legal books but Justice Jawwad replied that there are section 420 and 415 for action against such people. There is no body serious to take steps for betterment of the situation, he added.
Meanwhile Attorney General was of the view that a monitoring system regarding publishing of legal books should be in the Law Ministry. He sought a week time for further consideration on the issue.
Justice Jawwad said that court can not adjourn the hearing of case for six months because concerned authorities after six months would say that no progress has been made yet. If this situation remains continue than the correction is impossible Justice Jawwad observed.
The court was informed that the laws from 2010 till date are available on Law Ministry’s website but the court associate failed to find any law on website. After that Justice Jawwad inquired that who manages the Ministry’s website.
Law secretary informed the court that Ministry of Information Technology manages the websites of government of Pakistan. Responding to law secretary Justice Jawwad said it is state of affairs that the website of Supreme Court of Pakistan had been hacked twice. It seems one day the law ministry website would be hacked and there would be written hacked message that 6 kg sweets would be given to eat as punishment to the robber of a bank, he added.
Later the court adjourned further hearing of the case till next Monday.
