PTI to gear up party activities in Sindh: Imran Khan

SHIKARPUR:  Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday said that people of Sindh were deprived of their basic human rights and the masses were treated like animals , therefore, PTI decided to speed up its activities in the province.

Addressing a press conference in Shikarpur’s Soomro House after offering condolences with the family members of those killed in suicide attack on Shikarpur imambargah , he said that PPP was making money in interior Sindh in the name of Bhutto.

He urged the people of Sindh to be ready as PTI will induct educated youth of the province in the party and organise big rallies and political gatherings.

He  said that terrorism and sectarianism are diseases that cannot be eliminated through condemnations.

Imran Khan said that the war on terror cannot be won solely with a military operation, adding that the police force needed to be overhauled and depoliticised — especially in Sindh and Punjab adding that terrorist activities in different parts of the country will each have to be treated in a different manner to overcome the challenge.

He further said that the police force in Sindh has been destroyed by politicising it and that if the government itself is controlling the police in the wrong manner then how could the force work efficiently against terrorists.

Imran spoke proudly of the police in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), claiming that they have become a model in Pakistan and that members are recruited based on merit.

Hitting out at the Sindh government, the PTI chief said he was yet to see worse conditions than those in interior Sindh.

“The National Finance Commission (NFC) award brings so much money into Sindh, where does all that money go? The vaderas and politicians eat all that money.” Imran said.

Earlier today, Khan arrived at the Shikarpur imambargah to condole with the families of the blast victims.

Khan offered Fateha for the deceased and also inquired about the progress regarding investigations of the probe team.

PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also present on the occasion.
