Shireen Mazari accepts MQM supremo apology

ISLAMABAD: The Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shireen Mazari has accepted the apology extended by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) supremo Altaf Hussain and demanded that the MQM Rabitta Committee should also apologise for its statements.

The PTI leader also appreciated the MQM chief act of the apology.

“According to Islam’s teachings whenever someone tenders apology it should be accepted,” Shireen Mazari said in a statement issued shortly after Altaf Hussain’s apology to her and the women attendees of the PTI sin-ins.

However, she warned of a strong reaction if anything similar to such disrespectful behaviour was repeated in future.

Moreover, she hoped that issuance of such derogatory statements would be avoided in future.

Earlier, in last two days the tension between PTI and MQM leaders had escalated following tit-for-tat statements in the media.

The PTI Chairman Imran Khan had blasted at MQM Chief Altaf Hussain for his ‘derogatory’ statements against female PTI participants of the party’s sit-ins in Islamabad.

Imran had announced boycotting all the forums participated by MQM leaders and urged the leaders and workers of the MQM to dissociate themselves from Altaf Hussain.
