NAP implementation: PM, COAS to attend important meeting in Karachi of 13th

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif will attend an important meeting regarding implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) and law and order situation in the port city  on Friday February 13.

The sources said that the meeting will be held at Governor’s House Karachi. They added that the meeting gained significance amid the recent developments including a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report about an accused alledgly involved in burning Baldia factory and the recent arrest of a Sector In-charge of MQM reportedly involved in the May 12, 2007 carnage and subsequent allegations of MQM chief against state institutions and law enforcement agencies.

The meeting will be attended by Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Chief Minister Qayim Ali Shah, Corps Commander Karachi, Chief Secretary, DG Rangers Sindh, IG Sindh, Home Secretary and heads of other institutions.

The meeting will review the measures taken by Sindh government for implementation of NAP and law and order in Karachi. .

The DG Rangers Sindh and IG Sindh will brief the meeting about law and order situation of the province, besides that the meeting will also be briefed about terrorism related cases and establishment of military courts.
