Shahid Afridi sets target to achieve in World Cup

SYDNEY: Match winning  player of Pakistan Cricket team Shahid Afridi has said that team preparation for the World Cup was not up to the mark as compared to the biggest tournament.

Afridi expressed his wish that he wanted to cross the 8,000 runs and 400 wickets achievement for his career during the World Cup.

Boom boom Afridi also said that if fast bowlers’ did not meet expectations there should be no reservations in playing Yasir Shah.

The former captain appreciated the atmosphere in the dressing room adding that it would be beneficial in the team’s play.

Ahmed Shahzad commented on final before final of India-Pakistan match on February 15 that the team had learnt several lessons from the losses and knew the importance of the India match.

 Rising Pakistani batsman Shoaib Maqsood said it was a great honour for him to be compared to Inzamam-ul-Haq.

 He hoped that despite losses to New Zealand, Pakistan would perform well in the World Cup.

DUBAI: International Cricket Council on Sunday approved Nasir Jamshed inclusion in Pakistan World Cup squad on replacement of injured Muhammad Hafeez.

Earlier Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar khan Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Sunday, he said that Nasir Jasmshed will not be able to play match against India as his replacement is yet to be formally accepted by the International Cricket Council.

Pakistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez is out of the World Cup 2015 squad due to injury.

Doctors have advised Hafeez to rest for three week as he was suffering from a foot injury.

Nasir Jamshed was  a strong candidate to replace Hafeez.
