MQM rejects JIT report on Baldia Town factory fire

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Hyder Abbass Rizvi has rejected Joint Investigation Team’s (JIT) report on Baldia Town factory fire and declared it false and baseless.

Addressing a press conference here at Nine Zero, Rizvi  flanked by members of MQM Rabitta Committee.

He said the report was prepared about one-and-a-half-year ago in 2013 and made public now.

Rizvi went on to say that thousands of concocted JIT reports were also prepared in the past to indiscriminately target the party chief Altaf Hussain as well as workers.

The MQM leader also blasted on rival political parties Jamaat Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and claimed that the JI has linked with terrorists organization like Al-Qaeeda, IS and Islamic Brotherhood.

He alleged that women were subjected to sexual harassment in the PTI led sit-in.

Dr Farooq Sattar on the occasion said his party has decided to challenge in a court of law the findings of the Joint Investigation Team’s (JIT) report on Baldia Town factory fire.

Sattar termed the report  an attempt of a conspiracy to implicate the MQM.

Earlier, the party supermo  Altaf Hussain vehemently condemned the JIT report on Balida Town factory blaze – the worst incident of fire in Pakistan’s history in which more than 250 people had lost their lives.
