MQM agrees to join PPP in Sindh govt

KARACHI: Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik has sad that Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Pakistan People Party (PPP) will contest senate election together adding that the two parties relations have restored after the PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari contact with the MQM supermo Altaf Hussain on phone.

The PPP leader also said that the MQM has agreed to join Sindh Government.
Sources said that Rehman Malik will soon visit London carrying a new formula of  dialogue with the MQM.
It is pertinent to mention here that both the parties have formed talks committees to discuss the senate elections and for others matters.

Talking on the development the MQM leader Baber Ghouri said that the party will take decision joining the Sindh government  for serving the people of the province.
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain and Former president Asif Ali Zardari had a brief telephonic conversation on Saturday as both the leaders discussed the political situation and upcoming Senate elections.
According to a statement released by MQM, former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman opined that Urdu speaking community holds the same right on Sindh as the Sindhi speaking community.
Zardari assured Altaf that if the two parties work as allies in the future the 40:60 power sharing agreement shall be implemented in letter and spirit.
The two leaders also discussed in detail the upcoming Senate elections while agreeing to bring the matter on table in future meetings between PPP and MQM.

Hussain and Zardari also praised moderate leaders from both the parties like the former interior minister Rehman Malik who believe in politics of reconciliation and unity over politics of confrontation.

The relations between the two parties were on their worst after MQM blamed PPP for the extrajudicial killing of its workers on January 28,2015 while on January 29, Altaf Hussain also termed Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah (also belonging to PPP) ‘responsible’ for the killings of MQM workers.
On the other hand, Rahman Malik also met Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad Khan to discuss the matter of Senate elections.
While talking to media after the meeting, Rahman Malik assured that efforts are being made to include MQM in the present government.
He further lauded the struggles of Asif Ali Zardari for playing his positive role in the deteriorated political situation.
Moreover, political parties, under their leadership are gearing up for the upcoming Senate elections.
Meanwhile Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have sorted out the differences regarding coalition in Sindh government and Senate elections.
Sources revealed that detailed negotiations were held between Governor Sindh and Rehman Malik. The sides were reached to a reconciliation formula in the session.
Co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari, later telephoned MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in London and invited MQM to join hands with PPP in Sindh government, which Altaf Hussain accepted, sources said.
