Imran Khan takes action against timber mafia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan tweeted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is the first in Pakistan to take action against timber mafia.

Imran Khan said in a tweet that PTI is determined to save environment and take on timber mafia in the province.

He further said that the mafia has devastated KP by cutting down trees worth over Rs 100 billion.

 

First time so many senior officials in KP forest Department have been arrested by the government, Imran said and added the party will go for all those linked to timber mafia.

Anyone, including any politician, whatever his party affiliation, will be nabbed if found backing timber mafia, the chairman said.

 

“PTI acts on its commitments,” Imran.

He said that he is going to Mansehra today to support KP government’s move against timber mafia.
