Baldia garments factory torched by political party workers: Rangers report

KARACHI: Finally the real cause of Baldia garments factory incident revealed in Rangers investigation report presented in Sindh high Court on Friday.

According to Rangers investigation report, the factory had not caught the fire but it was torched by a political party worker along with his friend who is in rangers custody.

Rangers law officer presented the written report during the hearing of Baldia factory case.

The officer told the court that they had arrested a person who was allegedly involved in the incident revealed that he and his friend belonged to a political party had torched the factory.

The officer urged the court to keep the report secret.

Earlier, as many as 289 people were dead while at least 600 were injured in the incident on  11 September 2012.

The report presented following the incident stated the fire caused due to short circuit while another report revealed that boiler explosion caused the fire.
