KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Nabeel Gabol has said that intelligence agencies have cautioned him about threats to his life from elements within his party, MQM, saying that he was facing threats to his life from different elements including Lyari gangsters.
Talking in Geo News’ programme, Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Ke Sath, regarding his reported difference with the party leadership, he said that he had some difference with lower level leaders of the party which had now been settled.
He praised his party chief Altaf Hussain, saying that he has been in the party due to Altaf bhai.
Regarding his immobility among his voter and absence from his constituency, he said that he was facing threats to his life from different elements including Taliban, Lyari gangsters, and some elements from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and even intelligence agencies have warned him of threats to his life from elements within his own party, MQM.
He said that he had received some three to four letters from National Counter Terrorism Authority of the Interior Minister regarding the perceived threats to his life from some elements within MQM.
However, he did not take these threats seriously, he added.
He revealed that a senior PPP leader had also cautioned him to be careful as there were intelligence report that some elements in MQM were planning to assassinate him so that PPP could be blamed for his murder.
