PESHAWAR: The recently announced joint campaign by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led federal government in KP and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) is in doldrums after hitting sangs before launch.
According to reports, the joint campaign titled as ‘Sihat Ka Ittehad’ was to be launched on February 1 in KP and FATA to vaccinate children against nine childhood diseases indulging polio, mesealse and hepatitis C. But the campaign is in doldrums and has not yet been launched due to shortage of funds.
The FATA Secretariat has written a letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif demanding Rs 500 to 600 million, adding that the campaign could only be launched after the required funds were made available.
The letter further demanded deployment of police, FC, and Army personnel for the security of the volunteers and health officials who will be engaged in the campaign. It added that the campaign will be launched on February 16 if required funds were made available.
