Strike observed in Sindh against Shikarpur attack

KARACHI: One-day mourning and strike is being observed in Sindh today over the Shikarpur’s Masjid-o-Imambargah Karbala-i-Moulla tragic incident that killed 60 lives.

The strike call has been given Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) and Shia Ulma Coucil (SUC).

Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur has announced local holiday in the district today.

Normal life paralyzed in almost all major cities of Sindh as they remained closed early on Saturday. Traffic is thin on the roads and schools, colleges and Universities are also close.

Sit-ins to protest the government’s failure to afford protection to members of the Shia community were organised in Karachi.

A large number of people came out in protest against the attack in Shikarpur itself and set alight tires.

Sindh government has suspended area SHO of Lakhi gate and constable who has been deputed to security of the Imam Bargah.
