Secretary ensures power supply to be normalized by Jan 26

ISLAMABAD: The power supply network has been restored and the situation will be completely normalized by Monday.

This was stated by Secretary Ministry of water and power Muhammad Younus Dagha in a news conference held in Islamabad on Sunday (today).

The secretary said that the electricity  supply system was badly damaged due to an act of terrorism in Balochistan last night when the miscreants destroyed two power supply towers at Och-Sibi transmission line.

He said seven thousand five hundred megawatt electricity has been injected in the system while more power will be added in the system by tomorrow that will further improve the situation.

Dagha  said that the new load shedding plan that was announced will be implemented from tomorrow under which relief will be provided to the consumers. He said under the new plan there will be four hour load shedding for industrial sector while six hours for urban population and eight hours for rural consumers.

He further added that that the incidents of damaging the power supply are continuing from the last twelve days and the security mechanism is being strengthened to avoid such incidents in future.

Dagha said the miscreants also blew up gas pieline in Balochistan on Friday last which resulted in heavy break down. However he said the OGDCL has been able to repair the pipe line on emergency basis thus restoring power supply to national grid.

The Federal Secretary said that the whole nation is united and we will foil the nefarious designs of the miscreants.
