KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team ace off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has come up with prediction that the green shirts might not reach semi finals of the ICC World Cup 2015.
In an interview, he said that Pakistani team’s bowling attack is not strong enough for the tournament. Ajmal said that if Hafeez action was not cleared by ICC before the start of the tournament, it would be really a tough test of Pakistan bowling attack.
He said that in face of the weak bowling attack, the batsmen would have to take extra responsibility for the success of the team.
Ajmal said: ‘I believe that Pakistani team will not be able to make it into last fours and Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and India will play the semi finals.’
Suspended by ICC for his bowling action, green shirts spinner said that if Pakistan wanted to get success in the tournament, the two senior most batsmen, skipper Misbahul Haq and Younis Khan have to play long innings to encourage others players.
The off-spinner further said that he was depressed by his ouster from World Cup 2015. ‘I wanted to show my bowling strength in Australian conditions where bowlers get more bounce.’
