LAHORE: Punjab Educational Department has announced to form Punjab Citizens Peace Core Committee for the security of educational institutions on Thursday.
While talking to the media at Government College University Lahore (GCU), Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan said that peace committees will assist National Government Organizations (NGO’s), schools and college councils in identifying terrorist elements in the society.
He further stated that the Punjab Government has terminated the orders to purchase security equipments for the government schools due to the shortage and their growing prices however; the government will now buy weapons from a specific company instead of the open market.
Talking about the Peshawar carnage, Rana Mashood added that the sacrifices of Peshawar martyrs will not go un-rewarded as the nation will never forgive those who have politicized such tragic incidents.
