LONDON: Younis Khan, Misbah- ul-Haq, Azhar Ali, Junaid Khan, Shahid Aridi, Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shahzad have been shortlisted for Espn Cricinfo 2014 award over their test, one day and T20 performance in the year 2014.
Younis Khan has been nominated for the award for his 106 runs against Australia in first Test match played in Dudai.
Viv Richards’ Test record of 56-ball hundred was leveled by Pakistani Sipper Misbah- ul-Haq in second test 2nd test match against Australia in Abu Dhabi and he has been nominated for the award for the splendid performance.
Another Pakistani Test player Azhar Ali was also got place for the nominee as he scored 103 runs against Sri Lanka in third test in Sharjah and as he played wonderfully paced innings as Pakistan chased down 302 in under 58 overs to earn a drawn series.
Only Pakistani bowler who got nominated in the field of Test bowling was Junaid Khan who has been nominated for the performance he showed against Sri Lanka in Colombo where he had taken 5- 87. No any other Pakistani bowler nominated neither for one day nor for T-20.
Shahid Afridi was nominated for his boom boom performance in Asia Cup against arch rival India in Mirpur where he scored 34 not out and compelled India to face defeat.
Two Pakistani batsmen Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shahzad have also been nominated for the award for their T20 bating performance. Umar Akmal got the position in the list for his 94 runs against Australia in World T20 in Bangladesh city of Mirpur.
Ahemd Shahzad is the only Pakistani player who has highest score in world T20 which he made last year in T20 world cup match against Bangladesh and he has been nominated for the award on his 111 runs against Bangladesh.
