PTI, JI to contest LB polls in KP from a single platform

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday decided to contest upcoming local bodies elections jointly on a single platform.

A delegation of JI headed by its provincial chief Prof. Ibrahim Khan and senior minster for local bodies Inayatullah Khan held a detailed meeting with a PTI delegation comprising Speaker Sindh Assembly Asad Qaiser and provincial minister Shah Ferman.

During the meeting both sides discussed the upcoming local bodies elections and other issues. It was decided in the meeting that PTI and JI would contest ht the LB polls jointly from a single platform.

It is to be mentioned here that last week KP Chief  Minister had announced that schedule for local bodies polls in the province would be announced in April and elections would be held in May or June.
