ISLAMABAD: The masses are likely to get a major relief in the head of electricity tariff, as the government is in the process to pass the benefits of falling oil prices in the international market.
According to private Express News TV channel, on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Central Power Purchasing Agency is preparing a summary for cut in power tariff.
After Prime Minister’s approval the summary will be sent  to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority for notification.
It is estimated that the power consumers will get a Rs2.50 per unit relief  under the head of Fuel Adjustment and it would be effective from December last year.
It is to be mentioned here that following the drastic decline in oil prices, power tariff for September, October and November was also cut under the head of Fuel Adjustment.
