ADB shows willingness to invest in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Asian Development Bank (ADB) has shown  interest to invest in energy, communication, and infrastructure projects in Pakistan.

The understanding came at a meeting between Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and the ADB Country Director ADB Werner Liepach in Islamabad on Sunday.

Strategy of the next annual meeting of ADB, to be held in May, was also reviewed.

At the occasion the Minister asked the Bank to increase funds allocation for Pakistan.

The country director said ADB will ensure investment in Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline and other energy projects, besides in communication and infrastructure sectors.

The ADB official said ADB provided nine hundred million dollars to Pakistan last year.
