ISLAMABAD: Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan has urged the district judiciary judges to keep on studying to acquire more knowledge, and keep on observing to gain more wisdom and both these things will stand in good stand to appreciate an evidence.
He expressed these views in the certificate awarding ceremony at the conclusion of a one-week training course on “Management of Sessions Trial and Appreciation of Evidence” for Additional District and Sessions Judges from all over Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit- Baltistan in the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) on Saturday.
He said, “I believe that an effective case management is essential for an effective justice system and an effective sessions trial and appreciation of evidence are central to an efficient justice delivery in the criminal justice system.
The judges who update their knowledge about the new laws, emerging trends, sharpen their skills and gain knowledge about various traditions, cultural practices, norms, etc. wherever they are posted, they always remain in better position to appreciate evidence.”
Presenting his welcome speech and an overview of the training course, Dr. Faqir Hussain, DG of the Academy said, “The justice delivery system requires collective efforts of all including the bench, bar, court personnel, among others, who steer the profession.
It is a joint venture of all key stakeholders and for achieving aims and objective of speedy administration of justice to the litigant public harmonious relations between the bench and the bar coupled with training for all related to justice sector is essential.
There are several challenges being faced, both, by the bench and the bar but both have to strive to maintain public confidence in the rule of law. The Academy, despite its limited, resources and facilities is striving to produce the well-rounded professionals for the profession and it will continue to do so.’’
