KARACHI: Star all-rounder Shoaib Malik Fawad Alam and middle order batsman Asad Shafiq have been dropped from the World Cup squad, local media reported on Wednesday.
According to reports, Pakistan cricket team selectors have finalise the 15 member squad for the mega event while, Shoaid Malik, Fawad Alam and Asad Shafiq unable to impress the selectors in pentangular cup.
Interestingly, all three of them performed excellently in pentangular cup being played in National Stadium Karachi but still unable to get the attention from the selectors.
On the other hand, Kamran Akmal will also miss the event due to Sarfraz is preferred for the third opener.
The team will be announced today at National Stadium Karachi for the World Cup latter.
However, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afrid, Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shahzad, Sarfraz Ahmed, Haris Sohail and Mohmmad Irfan are already in for the World cup.
While, Junaid Khan, Sohaib Maqsood, Anwar Ali, Bilawal Bhatti, Sohail Tanvir and Umar Akmal are the most probable choice to be part of the team.
One of these two, Â Yasir Shah and Raza Hassan will also get the World cup ticket.
