Military court, the biggest weapon of martial law: Shaikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed on Tuesday congratulated Pakistani military over 21st Constitutional Amemdment to allow establishment of military courts in the country.

Shaikh Rasheed said that the Pakistani military has bravely accepted a prominent responsibility and hopefully it will complete every given task, local media reported on Tuesday.

Contrary to his statement, Rasheed strongly criticised the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government by claiming that military courts were the biggest weapons of martial law in the country.

He alleged that the security control was already in hands of the military and now the government put responsibilities to run special courts under military officers. He warned that military courts were the biggest weapons of martial law in the country.

AML chief said that he was against the governmental policy which could result severe clashes with seminaries. He predicted that the seminaries, Madrassahs, would be a proven asset for Pakistani military and national security in future.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistani government approved 21st Constitutional Amendment and amendments to Army Act on Tuesday (today) from both house, the National Assembly and the Senate.
