LAHORE: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that apex committees have been set up at provincial level comprising high military and civilian officials to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) and maintaining law and order situation.
In a statement, Bajwa said that on Saturday the meeting of Punjab Apex Committee was held at Corps Headquarter, Lahore which was attended by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, DG ISI and official of intelligence agencies and provincial government.
Addressing the meeting Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said that terrorism could only be rooted out through join strategy. He called for national unity and cohesion for effectively countering the menace.
General Raheel Sharif said that terrorism and extremisms would be wiped out at any cost. He called for joint efforts by masses, intelligence agencies, armed forces and government functionaries to defeat terrorism and extremism.
He urged the provincial government for cooperation in speedy trial of terrorism.
