SHC orders administrator Karachi to leave post

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui to leave his post.

The SHC two member bench headed by judge Sajjad Ali Shah on Thursday heard a petition filed by senior officer of Building Control Authority (SBCA) against Farooqui.

The petition argued that the administrator posted on the post despite reaching on his retirement age.

The SHC has ordered the administrator to leave his post and report to his earlier department SBCA. The court also ordered secretary municipal services to present probe into age of Farooqui in seven days period.

The court also ordered that perks, privileges and salary of Farooqui to be stopped until his age verification could not complete.

It is also pertinent to mention here that the administrator had come to limelight when Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) alleged that he did not follow his duties when fire erupted in Timber Market blaze.
