Meeting of parliamentary parties’ heads convened on Jan 2

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called on all parliamentary parties’ leaders in Islamabad on January 2, 2015 to review progress of implementation of the anti-terrorism National Action Plan.

All parliamentary parties’ leaders have been invited in a crucial meeting tomorrow by PM Nawaz Sharif to review developments in implementation of NAP in Pakistan. Consultation to root out terrorism and extremism would also be made by parliamentary parties regarding to-be-constituted national plan.

PM Nawaz Sharif will also address concerns arisen on the establishment of military courts in the country. Various political parties including two main opposition parties Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had expressed second thoughts over military courts and constitutional amendments after endorsing the move.

Significant developments were seen on Thursday (today) in Pakistan to take major decisions in view of uprooting terrorism and extremism from the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday (today) announced that Pakistan has prepared to take indiscriminate action against terrorists and their abettors as whole nation and political leadership were now on same pages against terrorists.

PM Nawaz Sharif was chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad to follow-up implementation of the National Action Plan against terrorism and extremism. The meeting was attended by Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG-ISI) Lt. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar and Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Maj. Gen. Asim Bajwa.

Governor Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KP) Sardar Mehtab,  Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Defence Minister Khwaja Asif, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed and Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch were also present in the meeting.
