Govt starts dialogues with leadership of Maddressa

ISLAMABAD: The government and representatives of the country’s thousands of madressahs have started a dialogue for reforming maddressahs on Tuesday.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf and other ministers held a meeting with Secretary General Wafaqul Maddaris Pakistan Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhary and other religious leaders.
According to sources government has appreciated the role of Maddaressa, meanwhile the religious leadership has offered it cooperation for reforms and demanded of the government to take action against such Maddaressa, NGOs or School involved in illegal activities and has given the recommendations for reforms in system.

Government and Leadership of Madaras have agreed to continue the dialogues and meeting of Leadership of Maddaressa with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is also expected, sources claimed.
During the meeting leadership of Maddaressa’s has made it clear that Maddressa are not involve in any kind of terrorism and discriminatory action should be taken if any institution is involved in illegal activity.
