MELBOURNE: Smith’s smashed 192, as Australia were all out on 530 runs in first innings against India on second day of Boxing day test played at Melbourne cricket ground on Saturday.
Skipper Steven Smith continued his outstanding form as he led Australia to score 530 runs in the first innings.
Smith and Haddin started the 2nd day from 259 o loss for wickets. Hadden after scoring 55 runs lost his wicket while smith continued with tail enders who once again came handy with the bat as skipper added 50 runs partnership with Michael Johnson who scored 28, 106 runs partnership with Ryan Harris who scored 74 in the partnership and added 48 for the ninth wicker with Nathan Lyon who lost his wicket after scoring 11 runs.
Smith was bowled by Yadav on 192 runs.
Mohammad Shami took four wickets while Yadav and Ashwin shared three wickets each.
Day 1
Australia batting first lost the big wicket of inform opener David Warner who departed without troubling the score board.
While Chris Rogers smashed his third consecutive half century before getting himself caught behind on the bowl of Mohammad Shami. On the other hand Shane Watson also departed in the next over after scoring 52 runs.
Skipper Smith along with Shaun Marsh added 69 for the fourth wicket to stable the team’s position. Shaun after scoring 32 was also caught behind on the bowl of Mohammad Shami.
Smith added 40 runs partnership with the debutant Joe Burns who lost his wicket after scoring 13, while Skipper continued his inning to score another half century.
Smith and Haddin scored unbeaten 40 runs partnership for the sixth wicket.
Umash Yadav and Mohammad Shami managed to pick up two wickets each for the visitors.
