PTI rejects draft Ordinance for constitution of judicial commission

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday rejected the draft of an Ordinance prepared by the government for constitution of a judicial commission for probing alleged irregularities and rigging in last generation elections.

PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen while talking to Express News said that the draft contained some four to five points which were against the already settled agreement between the government and PTI negotiation teams.

He said that the two teams had agreed to settle the ongoing controversy on give and take basis and the government and PTI teams went a step back on their stated positions.

He said that the draft Ordinance handed over to the PTI did not reflect the principle of give and take agreed by both the sides.

He hoped that the government would not back off from the already settled issues and they would be able to make any headway in today’s meeting.

Its is to be mentioned here that currently PTI and government teams are engaged in negotiation to resolve the controversy over last general elections. PTI run a 126-day long anti-government campaign over last general election only to warp it up after the December 16 Peshawar massacre.
