Four die in fog-related road accidents in Lahore

LAHORE: At least four people died on Wednesday in separate road accidents attributed to dense fog in Lahore.

 A biker, later identified as Ateeq, died as his bike collided with a truck near Jain Mandir whereas collision of a truck and motorcycle at Litton Road injured the motorcyclist who was shifted to the hospital. The injured, identified as Nazim, died succumbed to the injuries.
Motorway has been closed for traffic as visibility dropped to zero whereas flight schedules have also been affected troubling the passengers.

More than 60 feeders of Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) tripped due to the adverse weather conditions causing power outage in many areas of the city.
Earlier, Allama Iqbal International Airport and the motorway on Tuesday were shut down as dense fog enveloped the city.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the fog would continue to cloud the province.
The Allama Iqbal International airport’s operations have also been shut down and the international and domestic flights coming to land there have been deviated to other airports.
Furthermore, the authorities have advised the people to avoid unnecessary journey and turn their fog-lights on while on way.
